The story behind
Up above, on the terrace of 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, grows the apple tree planted by Jean-Louis Dumas several decades ago. In this rooftop garden designed by Shinsuke Kawahara, the tree with its tart fruits takes root on the saddled back of a horse, Hermès' first client since 1837. From season to season, the saddler's equestrian origins continue to inspire the Maison's designers with the same passion, just as these multicolored apples feed the rabbits, birds, and squirrels in this whimsical springtime garden.
