Hermès opens a new store in Ningbo

Hermès opens the doors of its Ningbo store, a vibrant, light-filled space relocated to the renowned Ningbo Hankyu department store. Its entirely new, expanded location showcases the diversity, creativity and craftsmanship of the sixteen Hermès métiers.

The store’s design is directly inspired by the verticality and sharp geometry of the city, its glittering towers and ever-evolving skyline. The store presents an impressive double-fronted exterior, with large, street-side show windows allowing an abundance of natural light to filter inside.

Twin entrances lead from the mall into the colourful women and men’s silk areas, divided by a wooden claustra that lets the eye travel to each side of the store. Ahead, the store’s atmosphere is one of openness; arranged in one level with few dividing partitions, it offers a view to the Hermès métiers, from perfumes and beauty to leather goods and homeware. Bathed in natural light from the nearby windows are the men and women’s ready-to-wear areas. Two fitting rooms and a VIP suite offer privacy in a warm and elegant setting. The store’s colour palette is inspired by Ningbo’s coastal location, drawing from the pearlescent nature of its shells, and their shimmering, luminescent hues. This comes to life most strikingly in the jewellery and watches area with a locally-sourced nacre wall covering and hand-woven bespoke carpets.

The Ningbo store will welcome faithful clients and first-time visitors to discover the contemporaneity, creativity and know-how of its collections of beautiful objects made to last.
