The story behind
“Tyger! Tyger! Burning bright, in the forests of the night”. The lines of William Blake's poem that Alice Shirley learned by heart at school come to life in her design featuring a majestically gentle tiger. Combining her childhood memories with her talent, the British artist specialized in the animal world drew inspiration from a magnificent collection of botanical illustrations at London's Natural History Museum to offer this grandiose feline the multicolored flowers and plants of its Periyar reserve in India. A bouquet of poetry and tenderness.
