The story behind

Stabled, waiting or showing, the horses change for each of the day's events. In his 1962 Couvertures et Tenues de Jour scarf, Jacques Eudel drew a few examples of these blankets, sheets and camails, featuring their owners' colors and numbers. Presented in this rectangle format, the array has been broken down into a playful, graphic checkerboard with stripes and squares that seem to point the horses in the right direction.
