The story behind

The “Cheval Natte” design adorns the Atrium lacquer trays. The idea for “Cheval Natte” was conceived while Tong Ren was designing the Mon Premier Galop shawl. Both designs share the same visual language, from their braided texture to their blocks of color. “Cheval Natte” was inspired by the wooden block toys the designer used to build castles with as a child. Here, Tong Ren takes up the same playful spirit to build an H-shaped horse. “Cheval Natte” stands on the stage, the curtain is up and the lights are on. He's ready for the show to begin.
