Creative freedom

Throughout its history, Hermès has followed its vocation as a creator of objects. Research and innovation in the finest materials, along with the transmission and updating of exceptional know-how are what drives the artistic direction, led by Pierre-Alexis Dumas. The 16 Hermès métiers work in a climate of creative freedom, guided each year by a theme that nourishes the entire house.
For each collection, the vocabulary of shapes, the palette of colours, and the combinations of materials are enriched and renewed according to the values of the house: creating beautiful, useful, contemporary yet timeless objects. The nobility of materials and the rigour of craftsmanship result in sustainable objects that can be passed down through the years.
The creations are the fruit of their creators’ curiosity and of their artisans’ exceptional know-how, and they achieve the house’s goal, namely to accompany customers in their everyday lives, across a diverse range of activities. Creating and crafting bespoke objects have been central to the story of Hermès since its origins, and today, Hermès Horizons undertakes special orders to make customers' dreams come true.
From harnesses to accessories for the automobile revolution, from the golfer’s belt-watch to the Apple Watch Hermès, Hermès’ creativity will be guided in 2025 by the theme of “Drawn to Craft”.

Six generations of artisans
Since 1837, generation after generation, Hermès has followed a dual thread – on the one hand the painstaking work of the craftsman in his workshop, and on the other the lifestyles of its customers.
