Hermès maintains its commitment to inclusion

Boosting the company’s employment rate of people with disabilities and expanding partnerships with socially supported organisations are the main objectives of the 2021-2022-2023 Group Disability Agreement.

This tangible commitment to inclusion, initiated by a first agreement in 2017, has generated remarkable results.

Since the Group Disability Agreements were implemented, a network of fourteen Disability Representatives – supported by over 120 recently appointed volunteer employees, now known as Disability Ambassadors – have been actively relaying the house’s commitments to inclusion within the métiers. A successful mission: the employment rate of people with disabilities has increased every year, from 3.5% of the workforce in 2017 to 6.4% at the end of 2021, in the context of a rising workforce. Purchases from establishments in the assisted sector have multiplied by 5.5 in 5 years, exceeding €4.2 million at year-end 2021.

At the end of 2021, Hermès had more than 650 employees with disabilities benefiting from workplace adaptations. Thanks to the efforts of our Disability Ambassadors on the ground, the house’s approach to various types of disabilities has evolved, resulting in the recognition of the status of certain employees and changes in the way we perceive difference.

In 2021, Hermès was awarded the HUMPACT Emploi France Prize for the second year running. The company also topped the Financial Times’ Top 100 Diversity Leaders list, which is based on employees’ perceptions of diversity and inclusion.
