Synergy

In this installation entitled “Synergy”, French artist Victor Cord’Homme portrays the cities of Shanghai and Paris side by side, each depicted with their own spirit and peculiarities while saluting their similarities. The symmetrical arrangement represents the dialogue and bonds that exist between them, overcoming the boundaries of space and time.

Break the boundaries of time and space

On one side, the artist showcases the poetry and energy of Paris: a Morris column, a traditional building and a railway station remind the onlooker of a few of the emblematic traits of Parisian architecture. These elements converse with the forward-looking and vibrant spirit of Shanghai illustrated on the other side by imaginary edifices such as towers, spacecraft or cable cars.

Within the displays, Hermès objects are brought to life in surprising and inventive ways, showcasing the house’s creativity with a vivid and colourful interpretation of the annual theme for 2020, “Innovation in the making”. Passers-by discover floating landscapes and immerse themselves in playful bespoke structures while exploring the world of Hermès objects.
