NOW I KNOW, EYE DON’T

Hermès has commissioned French artist Lyes Hammadouche to create its spring window display at Hermès Maison in Shanghai, with an installation entitled “Now I Know, Eye Dont”. Inspired by Hermès’ 2020 theme “Innovation in the Making”, the artist proposes an exploration of the universe and its differ-ent scales, from gigantic to microscopic.

An Exploration

The artist used spheres, minimalist lines and bright colours to create a set of planets and atoms, and mechanical cogs illustrate innovation through technical know-how and progress. Hermès objects link the different cogs, as a symbol of the time spent in the making process.

Hermès objects are brought to life in a surprising and imaginative way, while demonstrating their craftsmanship as well as their century-long legacy of ingenuity and constant pursuit of innovation.
