The story behind
"Brides de Gala" is an emblematic design by Hugo Grygkar, created in 1957 for a silk scarf. Inspired by a harness in the Émile Hermès collection, it pays tribute to Hermès' original métier as a saddler and harness-maker. Its name is reminiscent of the jingling of buckles, punctuated by the majestic sound of horses' hooves. The bridle aesthetics and balanced composition are still relevant today. The essence of the design is given a twist here, reinterpreted as a giant checkerboard on colored plaids and pillows in wintery tones.
