The story behind

Tong Ren is fascinated by the art of basketry, with its subtly interwoven plant fibers. The Chinese designer collects baskets from all eras, made with all kinds of techniques. Here, he has imagined a collection of trompe-l’œil vases whose patterns and colors intertwine as if porcelain had all the suppleness of wicker. The yellow, ocher and blue stripes and lines evoke the matt look of leather, while the woven shapes are inspired by the texture of branches and blades of grass.
