The story behind
Entirely hand-embroidered, Cordelie carpets make use of an adapted version of an exceptional 19th-century technique: Cornely embroidery. A cotton cord is applied on a linen backing using an embroidering hook to draw lines and flat planes of geometric compositions. Designed by Gianpaolo Pagni, Tremplin and Escalator evoke construction elements such as a terrace with a diving board and a rhythmic staircase respectively. H Vibration, created by the Hermès design studio, evokes the horizontal and rectangular surfaces used in architecture. Cordelie know-how creates a material effect thanks to the embroidered flat planes, visually bordering the weaving.
